Something a little bit more pastoral for a change - a bluebell wood at Chartwell in Kent.


Shot in April 2002 on Kodachrome, the unedited scan is shown below.


I've increased the contrast, done a little dodging and burning to even out the exposure and "blued" the bluebells themselves to make them a little less purple.

To London and Tate Britain yesterday for the Don McCullin exhibition. But first a stroll through Borough Market on our way from London Bridge station, taking in a coffee stop. Thence through Blackfriars and over Lambeth Bridge to the gallery. I thoroughly recommend the exhibition - dozens of amazing, thought-provoking and at times harrowing black and white prints, simply yet beautifully presented with concise but informative contextual notes. It was gratifying to learn of a shared beginning in photography - a Rolleicord and no exposure meter. There though I fear any similarity ends. Borough Market Bakery.
