Blasts From the Past 

In May 1990 I was fortunate enough...
...to marry this beautiful, smart, generous, fun, sexy, wonderful girl. Now, almost 29 years later it's her final day at work and I am very much looking forward to spending the rest of my own retirement with her. Lots more time for family and friends, travel, bridge, running, gardening, crosswords, tea-shops, reading... Just hope I can keep up.  Here she is almost 29 years ago during our honeymoon in Riva Del Garda, when we were both working as computer programmers at what was then the Sun Alliance Insurance Group. Here's to the dawning of a new era.


Below is the original scan of the Ilford FP4 negative, so just a little bit of dust and scratch removal, some added contrast and a warm tone added...

To London and Tate Britain yesterday for the Don McCullin exhibition. But first a stroll through Borough Market on our way from London Bridge station, taking in a coffee stop. Thence through Blackfriars and over Lambeth Bridge to the gallery. I thoroughly recommend the exhibition - dozens of amazing, thought-provoking and at times harrowing black and white prints, simply yet beautifully presented with concise but informative contextual notes. It was gratifying to learn of a shared beginning in photography - a Rolleicord and no exposure meter. There though I fear any similarity ends. Borough Market Bakery.
